काल का घोड़ा -

काल एक ऐसा घोड़ा है जो सतत चलता ही रहता है। कभी भी रुकता नहीं हैं, रुकने की बात दूर रही, इसकी गति भी कम नहीं होती। संसार की समस्त वस्तुएँ इस काल चक्र के साथ जुड़ी हुई हैं। मनुष्य पशु-पक्षी, कीट, पतंग आदि प्राणी चेतन पदार्थों तथा सूर्य, चन्द्र आदि ग्रह-उपग्रह, नक्षत्र तथा इनसे बने सौर मण्डल आकाश गंगायें तथा इन आकाश गंगाओं से बने सम्पूर्ण ब्रह्माण्ड को यह काल जीर्ण-शीर्ण करके अन्त काल में पहुँचा देता है किन्तु यह कभी समाप्त नहीं होता है। सभी पदार्थ अपने विनाश की ओर निरन्तर बढ रहे हैं।
